One thing I’ve always wanted to do was pottery.
I’ve been keeping an eye open for pottery classes and towards the end of 2014 I spotted beginners Pot throwing classes at the Plymouth College of Art and I managed to snatch up a space.
This pottery throwing course offered the opportunity to learn the basic skills and techniques of making pots on the potter’s wheel. Alongside clay preparation, throwing basic forms and turning we explored a range of surface decoration techniques, including decorating with slips and underglazes. Furthermore we explored a variety of glazing methods using low and high temperature glazes.
I can definitely recommend the course to anyone who is interested in learning pottery. If you want more information on the course you can follow the Plymouth College of Art link.
