I’ve been working on a new set of laser-cut keyrings that celebrate a simple idea: I love my country. Each one is cut from wood, shaped like a heart, and a laser cut ♥.
So far, I’ve made keyrings for England, Wales, Scotland, and South Africa – a small selection, but each one meaningful in its own way. They’re lightweight and easy to carry, perfect as gifts or keepsakes, whether you’re proudly local or feeling a bit homesick.
I like how something this simple can still say a lot. These are great for keys, bags, or even as little decorative tokens.
I’m thinking about adding more places soon – maybe even personalised options. If there’s a country or location you’d love to see, let me know!
Thanks for following along with what I’ve been making – more to come soon.

Next is a 3D layered version of the South African flag – all made from wood. I’ve been wanting to try a layered design for a while, and this flag, with its bold shapes and colours, felt like the perfect choice.
Each part of the design is individually cut and stacked to create a raised, dimensional effect. The different layers give it a lot of depth and character. It’s simple, clean, and really satisfying to put together.
South Africa is a place that means a lot to me, so this was more than just a creative project – it was something personal. Whether it’s displayed on a shelf or hung up, it makes a strong and meaningful statement.
I might try layering other flags or symbols next – it’s a technique I’d definitely like to explore further. If there’s a design you’d like to see in this style, let me know!
