Penguin Coasters: A Long-Awaited Stitching Project

Some projects take longer to get started than others, and this one has been on my list for the past year. My son asked me to make new penguin coasters to replace the ones I gave him many years ago, and I finally sat down to make them happen.

Eight little penguins, each machine embroidered with care, are now ready to waddle their way into his home. There’s something special about revisiting a project like this—knowing that something I made years ago was loved and used so much that it needed replacing. It’s a reminder of why I create in the first place: to bring a bit of joy, warmth, and personality to everyday life.

Now that they’re finished, I can’t wait to see them in their new home.

Have you ever had a creative project that took far longer to get to than you planned?
