There’s something wonderfully satisfying about watching an idea turn into something you can hold in your hands—and this latest project is exactly that. I’ve just completed a full A–Z set of coasters, each one featuring a machine-embroidered object on one side, and the corresponding letter and word on the other.
From A for Apple to Z for Zebra, every design was carefully chosen, digitised by me, and brought to life stitch by stitch. It’s been a labour of love, full of texture and the quiet satisfaction that comes from creating something with both purpose and personality.
What makes this set even more special is the combination of techniques: the front of each coaster showcases the embroidered image, while the back is laser-engraved with the letter and word. I love the contrast of soft threadwork with the precision of laser work—two very different processes coming together in one cohesive piece.
Each coaster is its own tiny piece of art—educational, tactile, and fun. I wanted them to be not only practical but also playful, something to spark curiosity or even a smile. Whether it’s a cheerful G for Giraffe or a regal Q for Queen, each design brought its own challenge and charm.
This set will be perfect for little hands (and grown-up admirers too). Whether used as learning tools, gifts, or just a beautiful conversation piece on the coffee table, they feel like a celebration of craft and care.
Now that this A–Z journey is stitched and done, I’m already thinking… what next?
