I’ve been having a bit of fun with my XTool M2 lately, and this little project was made especially for my grandson.

I wanted to create something that was not only a puzzle for him to enjoy, but something that had a little bit of Wales in it too. So I designed a friendly Welsh dragon, surrounded by a simple Welsh landscape with rolling hills, a castle, mountains and a few daffodils.

Once I was happy with the design, I used my XTool M2 to print and cut the puzzle pieces. There’s something very satisfying about watching a design you’ve created on the computer turn into a real, physical puzzle!

I’m particularly pleased with how the dragon turned out. I wanted it to be fun and child-friendly rather than too fierce — although he is still very definitely a Welsh dragon! 🐉

And, of course, every puzzle needs a little quality control… although I’m not sure Neo was particularly interested in helping to put it together! 😹

I love projects like this because they combine so many of the things I enjoy — designing, creating and using my machines to turn an idea into something special.

Most importantly, though, this one was made for my grandson, which makes it just a little bit more special. ❤️

Now we just need to finish the puzzle!
